3 COVID-19 Suspects Admitted at KIU Teaching Hospital Found Negative, Discharged

KIU, Western Campus câ¬â€œ Three COVID-19 suspects who had been isolated at KIU Teaching Hospital have been found negative and discharged, the Executive Director of the Hospital Prof. Robinson Ssebuufu has revealed.

câ¬Å“We had 3 cases in isolation and all of them have been discharged after we found them to be negative,c⬝ Prof Ssebuufu said.

He also revealed that the Hospital was planning on following up COVID-19 suspects from home as a result of the new modus operandi adopted by the Ministry of Health of self or home care.

câ¬Å“People who are suspected of having COVID-19 will have to remain home and self-isolate so that we can take their samples from there instead of admitting them and they await their results from home,c⬝ he said.

câ¬Å“We shall only admit very sick patients but positive people who do not show symptoms can stay at home until they recover,c⬝ he added.

He also warned the public to be very vigilant because they faced a higher risk of contracting the virus from the communities, urging them to adhere to the Ministry of Health SOPs at all times
