A Step Forward in Research and Innovation: KIU Represented at the Horizon Europe Information Uganda

KIU, Main Campus - On April 10, 2025, Kampala International University (KIU) proudly took part in the Horizon Europe Information Day, hosted by the EU Delegation in Kampala, Uganda. Representing KIU were distinguished members of our leadership team, including the Vice-Chancellor, Prof. Muhammed Ngoma, the Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Finance and Administration, Dr. Mundu Mustafa, the Director of Grants and Partnerships, Dr. Gaurav Bajpai, and Ms. Gloria Mahoro, Manager at the Directorate of Grants and Partnerships.
This event offered an invaluable platform for gaining insights into Uganda's participation in Horizon Europe and exploring the vast potential for research and innovation collaborations between Africa and Europe. Horizon Europe is a transformative program addressing critical global priorities, including Public Health, Green Transition, Innovation & Technology, and building Capacities for Science. It opens new doors for impactful partnerships aimed at solving complex challenges and driving progress.
Uganda has already made significant strides in Horizon Europe, with multiple research institutions engaged in funded initiatives. At KIU, we are dedicated to furthering this momentum, fostering collaborations with European partners, and leveraging collective knowledge to advance research and innovation that benefits society. Together, we strive to contribute to a more sustainable and equitable future.
KIU remains deeply committed to championing research excellence and innovation in Uganda. We are excited to continue our engagement with the EU and other stakeholders, creating impactful partnerships that address pressing challenges and drive transformative progress.
