Byaruhanga Daniel Appointed EF Hult Prize Campus Director

KIU, Main Campus - Kampala International University (KIU) has recorded yet another milestone in global innovation and entrepreneurship after Byaruhanga Daniel was officially selected as the EF Hult Prize Campus Director for the 2026/2027 cycle. The confirmation was issued by the EF Hult Prize Foundation, recognizing Daniel as the official representative responsible for leading the world-renowned social entrepreneurship competition at KIU.

According to the appointment letter, “This letter confirms that Byaruhanga Daniel has been selected as a volunteer EF Hult Prize Campus Director for the Kampala International University 2026/2027 EF Hult Prize Competition.”

The Hult Prize, often referred to as the “Nobel Prize for Students,” is the world’s largest impact-focused startup competition, engaging more than 100,000 students across 120 countries annually. The program challenges young innovators to build scalable enterprises aligned with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), with the winning team receiving $1 million USD in seed capital to launch their idea. 

As Campus Director, Daniel will spearhead KIU’s Hult Prize activities, including forming an organizing committee, recruiting student entrepreneurs, connecting teams with mentors, and hosting key events such as demo days and the campus pitch competition. Campus programs serve as official qualifying rounds for the global competition, giving KIU students a direct pathway to national and international stages.
