CLET Team Visits KIU School of Law, Commends Efforts in Legal Education

The Law Council's Committee on Legal Education and Training (CLET) conducted an inspection visit at Kampala International University's (KIU) School of Law on Thursday, June 12, 2025 at the university Main Campus.
Led by Dr. Zahara Nampewo and Margaret Kobusingye, the CLET team met with key KIU officials, including Prof. Muhammed Ngoma, Vice Chancellor; Dr. Mundu Mustafa, Deputy Vice Chancellor Finance and Administration; Christine Ainebyoona, Deputy University Secretary & Campus Administrator; Dr. Esther Kisubi, Dean of the School of Law and School of Law staff.
During the visit, Dr. Kisubi showcased the university's state-of-the-art facilities, including the law library, lecture halls, Law Clinic, and computer labs. She also presented an overview of the School of Law's academic programs, highlighting its innovative approaches to teaching law, such as public lectures and moot competitions that equip students with practical Clinical Legal Education skills.
The CLET inspection is crucial for ensuring that the School of Law meets the required standards for professional legal education. The inspection process involves evaluating the university's facilities, academic programs, staffing, grading process, research stages, examination procedure, curriculum development, and innovation, as well as quality assurance measures for both staff and students. This process helps to:
