FIDA KIU Student Chapter Participates in Games for Charity 2026

KIU, Main Campus - On 15th August 2026, the FIDA KIU Student Chapter took part in the Games for Charity 2026, an annual community‑building event held at City High School in Kololo.

The event was organized by U.S. Exchange Alumni Uganda, Rotaract Corporate League, and GAZALAND UOX, with FIDA Uganda serving as one of the partner organizations. The KIU Chapter represented FIDA Uganda in the various games and activities throughout the day.

The event brought together participants from a wide range of organizations, creating a vibrant, interactive, and inclusive atmosphere. Members of the Chapter engaged in several activities including archery, egg races, football, relay races, sack races, cycling competitions, and other team‑building exercises. These activities strengthened teamwork, enhanced communication, and fostered stronger relationships among the Chapter members.

Beyond the sporting activities, the event provided a valuable platform for networking and interaction with participants from diverse professional and academic backgrounds. Members of the Chapter gained insights from others’ experiences and reflected on the importance of collaboration, community engagement, and collective effort.

Their participation also contributed to promoting the work and visibility of FIDA Uganda, particularly in advancing access to justice and championing the rights and empowerment of women and girls. The event further highlighted the importance of inclusivity in all community‑focused initiatives.

For the students, the Games for Charity offered a refreshing break from the academic routine while helping them develop essential personal, academic, and professional skills. The experience reinforced the understanding that future legal professionals have responsibilities that extend beyond the classroom, including active participation in community initiatives that create positive social impact.

The FIDA KIU Student Chapter was represented by Changu Banda (Chapter President), Mike Ssekayaza (Vice-President), Esther Manjeri, Jerusha Nilima, Terian Wanjiru, and Sylvia Nantongo.

Overall, the Chapter’s participation in the Games for Charity 2026 was enriching and impactful. It strengthened teamwork, expanded networks, enhanced visibility for FIDA Uganda, and provided meaningful engagement with the wider community.

The event served as a powerful reminder of the importance of unity, inclusivity, and using collective platforms to contribute positively to society.
