Fighting Coronavirus Together: Ministry of Health Gets Test Kit, Personal Protection Equipment Boost

KIU, Western Campus câ¬â€œ Ugandacâ¬â„cs Health Ministry has received assorted Personal Protection Equipment (PPE)and testing kit material from the international community in the country to aid them in the fight against the COVID-19 pandemic.

This was revealed through a series of tweets from the ministry yesterday

câ¬Å“The Korea Foundation for International Healthcare (KOFIH) donated PPE and COVID-19 test kits worth 390 million shillings towards the COVID-19 response,c⬝ the Ministry tweeted.

According to the same tweet, the donation was received by Health Minister Jane Ruth Aceng and the Permanent Secretary Dr Diana Atwiine at the Ministrycâ¬â„cs offices in Wandegeya, Kampala.

The ministry also revealed that the Shia Imami Ismaili community donated 4 containers to set up the ambulance service bay at China-Uganda Friendship Hospital in Naguru, in support of the Ministrycâ¬â„cs efforts to fight COVID-19.

Microhaem Scientifics and Medical Supplies Ltd donated supplies including hand sanitizers, surgical masks and PCR test kits for COVID-19. The supplies are valued at 155 million shillings.

The Ministry has been advocating for aid in the form of testing kits and PPE to buoy their efforts in combating the pandemic, which has seen 145 Ugandans infected with the Coronavirus, and these donations are a very welcome gesture to East Africacâ¬â„cs least affected country.
