Fighting Coronavirus Together: Ministry of Health Installs Intensive Care Equipment in Hospitals

KIU, Western Campus câ¬â€œ The Ministry of Health has announced that it is currently installing Intensive Care Unit (ICU) equipment in Regional Referral Hospitals across the country.

According to the announcement from the Ministry, the installation is being carried out in Jinja, Lacor and Mbale Regional referral Hospitals and is in preparation for any severe COVID-19 cases that may arise there.

Despite Uganda not having registered any COVID-19 death so far, the Ministry is taking precautions after President Yoweri Museveni expressed concern over Ugandanscâ¬â„c failure to observe Ministry of Health guidelines on social distancing and wearing face masks.

Uganda has so far registered 1,043 COVID-19 infections but its approach in handling the pandemic has been hailed as a success.
