Thomas Lwanga's passion for cooking and good food led him to pursue a Bachelor's degree in Tourism and Hotel Management at Kampala International University (KIU). Little did he know that this would be the starting point of a fulfilling journey that would bring him back to his alma mater as a lecturer and contributor to the university's growth.
Today, Lwanga is a lecturer in the College of Economics and Management, Department of Leisure and Hospitality, where he teaches Food and Beverage Production Management among other course units. His course unit is a hands-on, practical exploration of restaurant management, cooking, and beverage production. Lwanga takes pride in equipping his students with theoretical and practical skills, empowering them to survive in the fast-evolving and competitive world as good employees and restaurant owners. With a variety of kitchenware and equipment, Lwanga believes they would be unstoppable.
Lwanga's academic journey didn't end with his undergraduate degree. He pursued a Master's in Business Administration and is working on his PhD in International Business. This commitment to learning has enhanced his teaching and informed his approach to mentoring students.

Lwanga 's story is a shining example of how KIU nurtures its students and alumni, providing a supportive and safe space that fosters growth and development. As he pays it forward, teaching and mentoring the next generation of hospitality professionals, Lwanga remains committed to his passion for cooking and good food. This is a powerful reminder that, with
