Kirabo Lifts KIU Rangers Past Angels Basketball Club in the National Basketball League

KIU, Main Campus - KIU Rangers Deputy Captain, Sharon Kirabo delivered a dominant performance on Wednesday February 11, 2026, recording a double-double to lead the Pride of Kansanga to a 55-41 win over Angels Basketball Club in the National Basketball League at Lugogo Indoor Arena.

Kirabo finished with a game-high 18 points and 20 rebounds, adding five assists as the Rangers improved to 2-0 early in the 2026 season.

KIU Rangers set the tone early, holding Angels to just two points in the opening quarter. They carried a 20-13 lead into halftime in a tightly contested defensive battle.

Coach Julius Lutwama’s side created separation in the third quarter, outscoring Angels 16-4 to take firm control. Although Angels responded with a 24-9 run in the fourth quarter, the deficit proved too large to overcome.

Kirabo has now scored in double figures in each of KIU’s first two games, signaling a strong start to the season for the deputy captain.

Racheal Nambuya added 13 points, while Cinderellah Anena contributed 12 for the Rangers - the first double-figure scoring performance for both in the NBL with KIU.
