Kampala International University (KIU) dental team has made history by emerging as champions of the intervarsity dental quiz competition, organized by the Uganda Dental Association (UDA) and the Federation of Uganda Dental Students Association (FUDSA). This impressive achievement is a testament to the university's commitment to providing high-quality education and training in the field of dentistry.

The competition, held on July 5th, 2025, at Makerere University Kampala, brought together five universities in a vibrant showcase of skills and knowledge.

The KIU team, led by Ruteraho Davis, President of the Dental Students Association of KIU (DSAKIU) and Vice President External of FUDSA, consisted of six talented students: Oyesigye Marvin, Nalumu Emily, Kintu Imran, Atuhura Gideon, Muhairwe Kevin, and Nganda Jane Frances. Together, they demonstrated exceptional teamwork, dedication, and perseverance, working tirelessly to prepare for the competition.

The team's collective knowledge, critical thinking, and quick reflexes enabled them to tackle each question with precision and accuracy, ultimately securing the top spot among the participating universities. Makerere University came in second, followed by Uganda Christian University, Moi University, and Equator University.

The KIU dental team's victory is a reflection of the university's strong academic programs and its commitment to producing well-rounded graduates who excel in their chosen fields. The Kampala International University Teaching Hospital and Research (KIUTHR), located on the KIU Ishaka campus, provides students with a unique learning environment that prepares them for success in the field of dentistry.
