KIU Together: Western Campus Information Minister Urges Colleagues to Concentrate on their Studies

KIU, Western Campus câ¬â€œ Students hopes of returning to school soon we're dashed yesterday, after President Yoweri Museveni's decision to extend the lockdown for another 14 days. 

However, according to the KIU Western Campus Information Minister, Ali Kasasa, the situation is not as bleak as many people make it seem.

câ¬Å“Many students are disappointed that the President did not open schools but we should not cry over spilt milk. Instead, we should concentrate on reading the course material provided to us on our e-learning platforms,c⬝ Kasasa said. câ¬Å“For me, I spend most of the day reading my notes and other material on the internet."

The third year medical student said he also spares some time to tutor and coach his younger siblings in their assignments and other subjects.

Kasasa, who is staying at his parentscâ¬â„c home in Namasuba, along Entebbe Road, says he is using the holy month of ramadan to pray for family, friends and all humanity to overcome the harsh effects of COVID-19.

He also engages students on social media, communicates with friends, does exercises and watches TV during his spare time. 

He has also learnt new skills like peeling matooke and is also learning a few recipes to add to his culinary abilities.

Kasasa took some time off to wish KIU staff, lecturers and students a blessed lockdown period and urged his fellow students to câ¬Å“read, read and readc⬝ as they stay safely indoors.

câ¬Å“Please adhere to the Ministry of Health guidelines so that we fight and overcome this and the world will be as safe as it was before,c⬝ Kasasa advised.
