KIU MAIN CAMPUS: Godfrey Agaba, the immediate past Guild President of Kampala International University (KIU), will be graduating on November 23rd, 2024, alongside thousands of others during the university's 30th graduation ceremony. Reflecting on his time at KIU, Agaba notes that his experience has taught him a valuable lesson: that nothing worthwhile comes easily.

"During my time at KIU, I have learned that I have to study hard and strive to become a better person because nothing comes on a silver platter," he said.

Like any driven individual, Agaba held various positions at KIU, the most significant of which was serving as Guild President from 2023 to 2024.

"During my time at KIU, I served as the MP for the School of Law from 2022 to 2023, Managing Director of Kanyeihamba and Company Advocates a law firm for law students at KIU and Chairperson of the Disciplinary Committee of the Kigezi Students Association, roles which I am proud to have handled efficiently," he stated.

"During my tenure, we organized one of the most successful cultural galas and inter-faculty football competitions KIU has ever witnessed," Agaba added.

"We also invited guest speakers on different occasions, such as Hon. Justice Musa Ssekana, as well as teams from NSSF and UGANET, who shared valuable information with the students. Additionally, we supported the purchase of the Guild vehicle, refurbished the Moot Court Room, and facilitated the payment of allowances to the current Guild Union members. The most memorable achievement, however, was organizing an international trip to Kigali and planting a memorable tree next to the library," he remarked.

To fellow graduands, Agaba offers words of wisdom on navigating the next stage of life: "I strongly urge my fellow graduands to remain united and not to despise the jobs they get because the world is a challenging place," he advised.

Currently, Agaba is pursuing a Postgraduate Diploma in Legal Practice, a Bar course at the Law Development Center, Kampala Campus. After graduation, he intends to enroll for a Master of Laws program at KIU.
