KIU,Main Campus- Mohamed Nur Ahmed, former president of the Somali Students Association at Kampala International University (KIU), is among the candidates set to graduate at the university’s 31st graduation ceremony on July 26, 2025.
Nur will graduate with a Bachelor of Information Technology (BIT) and says he is ready to face the world after what he describes as a transformative academic journey.
“My time at KIU has been filled with joy, gratitude, growth, self-discovery, and unforgettable memories,” Nur said.
“The university has provided me with not only quality education but also a nurturing environment that shaped my character and sharpened my skills for the future.”
He credited KIU’s academic resources, dedicated lecturers, and dynamic learning environment for preparing him for life after campus.
“KIU truly stands out as a hub of excellence and innovation,” he said.
Nur also praised the role of family and friends in helping him complete his degree.
“I have been privileged to walk this journey with incredible friends who have become family — people who inspired me, challenged me, and supported me every step of the way,” he said.
“The diversity on campus brought together ideas, cultures, and experiences that have enriched my personal and academic life.”
Nur said his time as president of the Somali Students Association in 2023–2024 was a defining leadership experience.
“I had the opportunity to lead, serve, and bring Somali students together in unity, peace, and shared purpose,” he said.
“It was a humbling experience that taught me the value of community and responsibility.”
As he prepares to return to Somalia to begin job hunting and community work, Nur expressed gratitude for the lessons learned at KIU and vowed to carry those values with him into the future.
“As I turn this page and step into a new chapter, I carry with me the knowledge, values, and friendships built at KIU,” he said.
“I will always be proud to say: I am a graduate of Kampala International University.”
