KIU, Main Campus - Zahra Mohamed Ali is about to reach a big milestone in her life. Her journey is a true example of how passion and hard work can lead to success. As she gets ready to complete her Master’s degree in Project Planning and Management at Kampala International University (KIU), Zahra looks back on a journey filled with growth, learning, and new opportunities.
With KIU's 31st graduation ceremony set for July 26, 2025, Zahra’s story stands out. Her strong love for planning, leadership, and managing resources has guided her every step, helping her achieve her goals and inspire others along the way.
"KIU has been more than just an institution of learning, it's a launchpad for my dreams," she reflects.
By immersing herself in diverse academic and extracurricular activities, Zahra has honed her expertise in project management, teamwork, and community engagement, setting her apart as a future leader.
One of the most indelible experiences in Zahra's university journey has been collaborating on group projects with classmates from diverse backgrounds.
"These experiences have not only broadened my perspective but also taught me the value of synergy and effective communication in achieving a common goal," she notes.
Her tenure as Finance Manager in the Project Pioneers Association has further refined her skills, instilling in her a deep appreciation for teamwork, leadership, and community service.
However, Zahra’s journey to success was not easy. One of the biggest challenges she faced was doing research and writing her dissertation. It was a tough and stressful process that really tested her strength and patience. But she didn’t give up, but instead kept going and came out stronger and more focused than ever.
"To my fellow graduates, I would say that consistency, focus, and patience are the keys to unlocking your full potential," she advises, drawing from her own experience.
As Zahra embarks on the next chapter of her journey, she is ready to make a lasting impact through well-managed and sustainable projects.
"I am forever grateful to KIU for equipping me with the skills, knowledge, and network needed to achieve my goals. I deeply appreciate the support of my lecturers, classmates, family, and friends throughout this journey. A special thank you to my supervisor, Dr. Kennedy Christopher, for his expert guidance and mentorship," says Zahra Mohamed Ali.
As KIU celebrates its 31st graduation ceremony, Zahra’s journey is a true source of inspiration. Her story shows how passion, hard work, and determination can lead to success. She is a shining example of how KIU helps students grow and make a difference in their communities.
