#KIU32ndGrad: Prudence Muhirwe, KIU Western Campus’ first female Guild President‑Emeritus, set to graduate with a Bachelor of Pharmacy

Kampala International University Western Campus’ (KIU-WC) first female Guild President, Prudence Muhirwe will be among the proud graduates on November 29, 2025, during the university’s 32nd graduation ceremony, where she will receive a Bachelor of Pharmacy.

Inspired by KIU alumni pharmacists who showed her the power of the profession, Prudence chose KIU for its strong reputation and supportive environment. “I interacted with some successful pharmacists that studied from KIU and they inspired me to join the university,” she recalls.

While balancing rigorous coursework, she led the student body as its highest‑ranking officer, championing inclusive initiatives such as a record‑breaking Sports and Cultural Week and securing increased funding for clubs. “Special events like Sports and Cultural competitions were always my favourites at campus,” she says.

Beyond the presidency, Prudence played netball, volunteered on medical outreaches that brought essential health services to nearby villages, and forged friendships across cultures that sharpened her interpersonal skills.

She highlighted that the KIU bursary offer lifted her family’s financial burden, turning her dream of becoming a pharmacist into reality.

Prudence extends heartfelt thanks to university management for upholding KIU’s values, to the dedicated staff and lecturers, and to her fellow students for their unwavering support. With a job offer already in hand and plans to pursue further studies, she pledges to work hard, stay disciplined, and remain a proud KIU ambassador; carrying the values of service and excellence wherever she goes.

Her journey is a testament to what it means to dream and act boldly at KIU.
