By: Abdirizak Mohamud Mohamed - Master of International Relations and Diplomatic Studies
Driven by a longstanding passion for diplomacy, I chose KIU for an environment that would equip me to navigate international politics and foreign policy and today, I graduate with a Master of International Relations and Diplomatic Studies.
The university exposed me to diverse perspectives on global governance, peacebuilding and international development.
My time at KIU has been transformative and rewarding. Rigorous study, research and interaction with scholars and peers from different backgrounds broadened my understanding of global affairs and sharpened my critical thinking, leadership, communication and analytical skills.
The experience also strengthened my confidence and reinforced my belief in diplomacy as a tool for resolving conflicts and fostering understanding among nations.
I now aim for a career in diplomatic service, with the ambition of becoming a Diplomat and, eventually, an Ambassador. I hope to advance my nation’s interests, strengthen African unity and promote global peace and development.
To continuing students, my message is this: “Do not pursue education merely for a certificate; pursue knowledge, character, and the ability to make a difference.”
