On Saturday, November 21st, 2026, I will proudly graduate from Kampala International University (KIU), Western Campus, with a Bachelor of Nursing Sciences. This milestone reflects years of perseverance, continuous learning, and a commitment to serving humanity through nursing.
My passion for caring for people and improving healthcare inspired me to pursue nursing. I chose KIU because of its strong reputation for professional education and practical clinical training, believing it would equip me with the knowledge and skills needed to make a meaningful difference in people's lives.
One of my proudest achievements has been progressing from certificate and diploma nursing qualifications to a bachelor's degree while continuing to serve patients and contribute to nursing education and clinical training. Another significant accomplishment was completing my research on "Barriers to Effective Electronic Health Record Documentation Among Nurses at KIU Teaching Hospital." The study deepened my appreciation for evidence-based nursing practice and the role of research in improving healthcare delivery.
Beyond academics, KIU strengthened my leadership, teaching, research, and communication skills. Through my involvement in teaching and learning coordination, clinical placement supervision, and continuing medical education, I gained valuable experience in supporting student development and professional learning among healthcare workers.
Receiving a KIU bursary was a turning point in my academic journey. It eased the financial burden of my studies, enabled me to focus on my professional growth, and inspired me to work even harder toward my goals.
As I graduate, I look forward to advancing my career in nursing education, clinical leadership, and healthcare research while pursuing further studies. I am proud to be a KIU graduand and grateful for a journey that has prepared me to serve with excellence, integrity, compassion, and a lifelong commitment to learning.
