KIUPSA Honours Excellence at 2026 Dinner and Awards Night

KIU, Western Campus - The Kampala International University Pharmacy Students’ Association (KIUPSA) brought together students, staff and alumni of the School of Pharmacy (SoP) for an evening of celebration, recognition and fellowship during its Dinner and Awards Night held on Saturday, October 24th, 2026, at Western Meridian Hotel in Bushenyi.

Held under the theme, “A Dispensation of Glamour,” the event celebrated outstanding achievements among KIUPSA members while providing an opportunity for the pharmacy community to strengthen professional bonds and reflect on the values of excellence, leadership and service that continue to define the association.

A highlight of the evening was the awards ceremony, which recognised individuals whose achievements, dedication and service had made a significant impact within the association. The recognition not only celebrated outstanding performance but also inspired members to pursue excellence in their academic and professional journeys.

The dinner was graced by Dr. Nuru Mugide, Vice President of the Pharmaceutical Society of Uganda (PSU), who attended as Chief Guest. Her presence underscored the Society's continued commitment to supporting pharmacy students and nurturing future healthcare professionals. Having missed the previous edition, Dr. Mugide made a deliberate effort to attend this year's celebration, reaffirming her support for KIUPSA and its initiatives.

Addressing attendees, KIUPSA President H.E. Michael Ahimbisibwe thanked members for their unwavering support and active participation in association activities. He also acknowledged the University administration, SoP, lecturers, partners and sponsors for their invaluable contributions to the association's growth and success.

Ahimbisibwe congratulated the award recipients and reaffirmed KIUPSA's commitment to academic excellence, student welfare, professional development and transformative leadership. He encouraged members to uphold unity and collaboration, emphasizing the importance of a shared vision in strengthening the association and advancing its mission.

Beyond the formal proceedings, the event provided an opportunity for attendees to interact in a relaxed setting, strengthening ties within the SoP community. The gathering underscored the value of mentorship, networking and collaboration in preparing students for successful careers in the healthcare sector.
