KIU's Agaba Elected New Uganda Pharmaceutical Students Association President, Vows to Bridge Unity Gaps Between Universities

KIU, Western Campus - Innocent Agaba, who was on April 17 elected the new Uganda Pharmaceutical Students Association (UPSA) President, has vowed to bridge the unity gaps among all universities in the country.

Agaba, a fourth-year student of the Bachelor of Pharmacy at KIU Western Campus, says he is passionate about leadership, and he intends to use this passion to drive UPSA forward.

"I am going to bridge the unity gaps between all universities through combined campaigns and activities in pharmacy education, public health, professional development, compounding, and much more," Agaba says.

 "I will also bridge steady collaborations with sponsors and other partners," he adds.

This is not Agaba's first foray into leadership at both the university and national levels.

He has served as the KIU University coordinator at Uganda Pharmaceutical Students Association from 2019-2021, Secretary Electoral Commission Kampala International University Pharmacy Students Association (KIUPSA) 2019, member of the African Regional Projects Office - International Pharmaceutical Students Federation(IPSF) 2019-2020, Official delegate for UPSA, Uganda at IPSF regional and General Assemblies 2020, Chairperson organizing committee of the 3rd Uganda Pharmaceutical Symposium and is an IPSF Leaders in training graduate 2019.

Agaba regards himself as a devoted religious person and has served in the church as the Public Secretary for St. Camillus Catholic church from 2018 to 2021 and has been chairman in the same church since 2019.

He says he derives his inspiration from the pioneers of UPSA to drive home their vision of making it the leading pharmacy student organisation in the world through advocacy and professional development in nurturing a holistic pharmacist.
