The School of Engineering and Applied Sciences Clash in Inter-departmental Friendly Games and Sports Competition

KIU, Western Campus - On Saturday, October 26th, 2024, the School of Engineering held an electrifying interdepartmental games and sports competition. The friendly competition, held at Country Side Resort, Bushenyi, was designed to promote teamwork, camaraderie, and healthy rivalry among staff.

The thrilling contest saw the Civil Engineering Department face off against a combined Electrical, Telecommunication, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering Department team. The event featured football, chess, cards, and table tennis.

By the end of the contest, the Civil Engineering Department emerged victorious in Football, Cards, and Table Tennis, while the combined team Electrical, Telecommunication, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering Departments had a consolation win in the Chess category.

At the end of the competition, the Civil Engineering Department had 9 out of 12 points, while the Electrical, Telecommunication, Computer, and Mechanical Engineering Departments had 3 out of 12 points.

In a glorious ceremony, the Civil Engineering Team was declared the overall winner and received the prestigious trophy, presented by Prof. Eric Mabonga the Deputy Vice-Chancellor (DVC) and Dr Ibrahim Babangida Abubakar the Assistant Deputy Vice-Chancellor for Academic and Research (ADVC-A&R), who graced the event as guests of honour.

The competition showcased the School's spirit of unity, sportsmanship, and friendly rivalry, congratulating all participants on their enthusiasm and dedication.
