KIU, Main Campus - KIU Titans delivered a commanding performance to defeat Diamonds in the Sun 55-44 in a FUBA Division One Basketball League game played on Easter Monday, 6th April, 2026.
The contest started on an even note, with both teams showing intensity on offense and defense. Diamonds in the Sun edged the opening quarter 11-10, but that narrow lead only sparked a strong response from the Kansanga-based side.

Guided by head coach Julius Lutwama, the Titans turned the game around in emphatic fashion in the second quarter. KIU put up 17 points while producing a near-perfect defensive display to limit Diamonds to just two points, taking firm control of the contest.

The momentum carried into the third quarter as the Titans continued to dominate on both ends. KIU added 16 points and restricted Diamonds to six, stretching their lead and putting themselves in a comfortable position heading into the final period.
Diamonds in the Sun attempted a late comeback in the fourth quarter, scoring 25 points and holding the Titans to nine. Despite the late pressure, KIU remained composed to secure a well-earned victory.
Paul Ashiraf led the scoring for the Titans with 11 points, while Chieng Garang contributed 10. Jonathan Lubakangkene registered a game-high 15 points for Diamonds in the Sun and was the only player on his side to reach double figures.

The win sees KIU Titans improve to a 7-1 record, maintaining second place on the FUBA Division One table as they continue their strong run this season.
The Titans will return to action on Sunday, 12th April, 2026 against Entebbe Knight Riders, while Diamonds in the Sun are set to face Power Basketball Club.
