My name is Joshua Ashaba, a Law graduand at Kampala International University (KIU), class of 2020-2025. With a passion for making a difference, I chose to pursue law to become a beacon of hope, transparency, and transformation for my family, friends, and community.

My mother being an alumnus of KIU, I was drawn to the university's reputation for providing quality education. During my four years at KIU, I had the privilege of being part of the Guild Body, which was a highlight of my university experience. My primary goal was to acquire knowledge and skills in the legal profession, and I'm proud to say that I have achieved this.

Beyond academics, KIU provided me with opportunities to grow in leadership, art, sports, and politics. I served as the Right Honourable Prime Minister in the Guild Union, working tirelessly to serve the student body and the university. This experience not only honed my leadership skills but also taught me the importance of building strong social circles in the legal profession.

As I reflect on my time at KIU, I am grateful for the experiences that shaped me into a well-rounded individual. From making lifelong friends to developing my leadership skills, KIU provided me with a platform to explore my passions.

As the university celebrates its 25th anniversary, I would like to express my gratitude to the founders, administration, staff, and alumni for their contributions to providing quality education. To the continuing students, I offer these words of wisdom: make the most of your time at university, build meaningful relationships, and remember that the future belongs to those who are organized and prepared.

I am excited to see what the future holds, and I look forward to returning to KIU for my Master's degree in Laws, with the hope of sharing my knowledge and skills with future generations.
