ALICE NYADOI AIMS TO MAKE SCHOOL OF ALLIED HEALTH SCIENCES A BEACON OF INCLUSIVITY

KIU, Western Campus - Sworn in on Friday 27th Sept 2024 as President of the Association of Allied Health Students’ Association of KIU Western Campus, Alice Nyadoi aims to use her position to foster unity among the students under the School of Allied Health Sciences (SAHS).

The 3rd year Bachelor of Medical Laboratory Science student and former Deputy Guild Speaker of KIU Western Campus says she has interacted with students from diverse backgrounds and disciplines from the SAHS and beyond and realized this need.

“One critical area I want to achieve differently is fostering unity and inclusivity amongst all students. Previously, I noticed pockets of fragmentation and disconnection among students of different programs. As President, I aim to bridge these gaps and create a cohesive, supportive community. where every student feels valued, heard, and empowered to contribute”, she said.

She believes they will achieve this through inclusive representation, engagement, shared experiences, and diverse cabinet composition, where all courses are equally represented.

Alice aims to establish a student advisory board to ensure student voices are heard, conduct a student satisfaction survey to identify areas for improvement, develop a student feedback system for timely issue resolution, improve accessibility to academic resources and support services, and host a research symposium, workshops on leadership and professional development among others.

She noted that the demanding leadership responsibilities won't deter her from academic excellence.

“I have consistently balanced academic responsibilities with leadership roles, starting as a class representative in my first year. I have progressed to more significant positions, including Course Representative, Woman MP, Deputy Guild Speaker, and now President of the School of Allied Health Sciences”, she concluded.
