Flavia Tumusiime Lands a Juicy USAID Gig

Flavia Tumusiime seems to have a good luck charm about her that everything she touches turns into gold. The am to pm Capital Radio host has all reason to smile because she is smiling all the way to the bank.

Why, you ask? The latest we have gathered is that the NTV Anchor has signed a deal with Private Education Development Network (PEDN) and USAID as the Ambassador of a campaign called Girl Rising.

Girl Rising, which is a campaign to send 50 Ugandan girls back to school, was launched last week with a short documentary about girls that wrapped up the adverse problems unprivileged girls go through like early marriage, pregnancies and failure to obtain basic education among others.

The documentary was officially premiered at Century Cinemax at Acacia Mall and was flanked by a luxurious cocktail fundraiser afterwards. Among the things Tumusiime will be responsible for is talking to different girls and inspiring them about the benefits of education.

Our efforts to reach the Ambassador for a comment about her new role were futile as she failed to pick up her call. But all the same, we will congratulate her and wish her the best.
